European maritime and fisheries fund after 2020 reduced by 5%

On Tuesday 12 June, the European Commission adopted, as we had predicted, its legislative proposal to allocate a total of €6.14 billion for the maritime economy and fisheries sector from 2021 to 2027 (see EUROPE 12038).  The total budget proposed for 2021-2027 represents a cut of 5% compared with the current EMFF 2014-2020, mainly due to the effect of Brexit.
