12/06/2018 (Agence Europe) – In a briefing note published on Friday 8 June, the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (CEDEFOP) forecasts an employment growth rate of around 0.5% between 2020 and 2025, before returning to pre-crisis levels by 2030. According to CEDEFOP, southern European member states are continuing to experience low employment growth rates but the centre is at the same time anticipating a slight increase in labour growth of around 1% in these countries. According to CEDEFOP’s forecasts, job “polarisation” will strengthen with increasing demand for high-level and low level skills. On the other hand, CEDEFOP is forecasting the gradual disappearance of temporary jobs. This polarisation will be very strong in France, the Netherlands and United Kingdom, according to its forecasts.
