25/04/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 24 April, the European Transport Workers’ Federation (ETF), the European Barge Union (EBU) and the European Skippers Organisation (ESO) published joint statement in which they call for measures to be taken to tackle violence against women and LGBTQI workers in river transport. In this regard, they call on the member states and European Union institutions to make this issue a political priority. This appeal follows a survey carried out by the ETF that shows that 63% of women employed in the sector have already suffered at least one act of violence in the workplace. The organisations are planning to launch joint actions so that the different actors are aware of this issue. The link to the statement is as follows: https://bit.ly/2Kf6wPO. (LT)
