25/04/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 24 April, the spokesperson for the European External Action Service said the protocol decision on Transnistrian vehicle registration, signed earlier in the day between Moldova and Transnistria, "represents an important step forward and contributes to a positive dynamic in the Transnistrian settlement process". The spokesperson added that this agreement will allow vehicles from the Transnistrian region to participate in international road traffic from 1 September 2018, in accordance with international rules. It is now essential that swift and thorough implementation of this agreement, as well as of all the agreements achieved last year, is ensured by both sides, the spokesperson said in a press release, reiterating the EU's continuous support for a peaceful settlement of the Transnistrian conflict within the framework of the 5+2 process.
