In-depth investigation opens into loan of €900 million awarded to Alitalia by Italian State

On Monday 23 April, the European Commission opened an in-depth investigation into a loan of €900 million awarded by the Italian state to the airline Alitalia in 2017, in order to determine whether or not it is compatible with EU state aid rules.
