26/02/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 22 February, Eurochambres responded with moderate enthusiasm to the internal market and consumer protection committee (IMCO) vote introducing a single digital gateway (see EUROPE 11967). The general secretary of the organisation, Arnaldo Abruzzini, welcomed the determination of MEPs to extend the scope of new administrative procedures on income tax but expressed his regret about the "diluted wording" on company registration. At a more general level, Abruzzini commented on the lack of ambition demonstrated by political decision-makers and emphasised how much this gateway is a symptom of the lack of internal market integration, 25 years after its creation.
