No significant breakthrough in EU-Mercosur free trade talks, which will resume on 19 February

On Friday 9 February, the European Commission confirmed that after a week of technical level discussions in Brussels, which came to an end on Thursday 8 February without any significant breakthrough, the EU and Mercosur (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay) negotiators will meet again in Asunción on 19 February to try and reduce the remaining gaps ahead of concluding a trade agreement between the two blocs.
