02/02/2018 (Agence Europe) – The Research Programme on Management of Air Traffic in the Single European Sky (SESAR) issued a call for proposals on Wednesday 31 January to finance drone traffic management projects in Europe in line with the aims of the U-Space drone air traffic management system for low-altitude, unveiled by Transport Commissioner Violeta Bulc on 23 November 2016 (see EUROPE 11674). The call for proposals comes under the banner of the Connecting European Mechanism and has a budget of €9.5 million. Some 5 to 10 projects should be able to receive partial financing from the SESAR portion. Interested individuals and bodies have until 15 May to submit their applications.
