02/02/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 2 February, the European Commission opened a public consultation to assess the current strategy for legal training for justice professionals in the EU, ahead of its preparation of the strategy for 2019-2025. Some objectives will be reached in 2018, such as ensuring that half of all players in the EU's legal system attend at least one legal training course, but the Commission notes that several lessons learned since 2011 and new training requirements still need to be analysed. To this end, a general questionnaire on training in EU legislation has been prepared for justice professionals, representatives or trainers, while another, more targeted, questionnaire is for experts in European judicial training.
