16/01/2018 (Agence Europe) – The timeframe applicable to the directive relating to a balance between professional and private life for parents and carers is taking shape. The European Commission will present its proposal to the employment and social affairs committee (EMPL) on Tuesday 23 January. On 21 February, a public conference on the subject will take place. The report will be presented to the committee on 27 or 28 March. The date limit for submitting amendments is 13 April. Finally, the committee vote is planned for 11 July. The rapporteur is David Casa (EPP, Malta), on behalf of the EMPL committee. Agnieszka Kozłowska-Rajewicz (EPP, Poland) will be the rapporteur at the women's rights and gender equality committee (FEMM) (see EUROPE 11902). (PH)
