European Ministers for Justice are expected to adopt a general approach on two legislative texts on Friday 8 December to improve cooperation in the criminal justice arena: the proposals seek to create a centralised ECRIS-TCN system that will help to swiftly check whether a member state holds information about the convictions of a third country national; the draft regulation also seeks to harmonise the mutual recognition of decisions on the freezing and confiscation of criminal assets.
