Cecilia Wikström critical of sluggish pace of negotiations at Council for asylum system reform

Cecilia Wikström MEP (ALDE, Sweden) is the rapporteur on European asylum system reform.  Her Dublin Regulation report, adopted in the European Parliament’s civil liberties committee on Thursday 19 October, was described by Italy's Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni as a “big step forward” (see EUROPE 11888).  On Tuesday 24 October, she granted a few minutes of her time to EUROPE to explain what she now expects from the member states.  (Interview conducted by Solenn Paulic)
