25/10/2017 (Agence Europe) – An action plan detailing the implementation of the European cyber-security strategy is expected to be submitted to the ministers with responsibility for telecommunications at their forthcoming meeting on 5 December (see EUROPE 11865). This was intimated by the Estonian minister for entrepreneurship, Urve Palo, at the extraordinary meeting of the Telecommunications Council on Tuesday 24 October. “There is no point in having a strategy without a specific action plan”, she told a group of journalists. During their talks, the ministers discussed ways of accelerating the implementation of the directive on network security (NIS) and promoting private and public investments in this area. The General Affairs Council is to adopt conclusions on cyber-security at its November meeting. (SPj)
