15/09/2017 (Agence Europe) – In a press release issued on 14 September, the European Transport Workers’ Federation (ETF) regrets that the president of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, expressed low ambitions when it comes to fighting social dumping. ‘Only one small, weak reference to social dumping in an hour-long State of the Union speech,’ explained ETF secretary general Eduardo Chagas. ETF president Frank Moreels welcomed Juncker’s desire to ensure justice within the Single Market, but said he would be ‘sceptical about the president’s words’ until ‘real action’ is taken. (LT)
