The General Court of the EU issued a ruling on Thursday 20 July rejecting the appeal lodged by the Bureau d’achat de diamants en Centrafrique (Badica) and its Belgian sister company Kardiam (case T-619/15). The Court thereby upholds the freezing of the funds of the two companies for involvement in illegally trafficking diamonds from the Central African Republic and providing support for armed groups.
