On Thursday 20 July, the European Commission paid Tunisia the third and final €100 million tranche of its first macro-financial assistance programme, which in total is worth €300 million. The programme was adopted in May 2014.
This financial assistance is part of the EU's overall efforts to support Tunisia – a country hit by economic difficulty and persistent political instability.
