Agriculture and Fisheries Council (and 18/07). - Presentation of the work programme of the Estonian Presidency. *Fisheries: presentation by the Commission of the current situation of the common fisheries policy and fishing possibilities for 2018. *Agriculture: - Results of the trialogue on organic farming. – Exchange of views on the future of the CAP (modernisation and simplification) and its financing. – Stock-take of the international trade negotiations (EU/Japan agreement, negotiations with Mercosur, Mexico, the Philippines and Indonesia and future negotiations with Australia and New Zealand). - Any other business: Commission’s action plan to fight microbial resistance; African swine fever; product labelling and quality standards; aid to Spain and Portugal due to the drought.

Activities of the committees (to 21/07). – LIBE: dispatch of a mission to Washington to find out about problems affecting EU/US relations in the field of Justice and Home Affairs (protection of private data, cybercrime, anti-terrorism measures, radicalisation, immigration, victim protection) (17-21/07). – IMCO: dispatch of a mission to Canada to examine the potential effects of the free trade agreement (18-20/07). – ENVI: dispatch of a mission to Porto Marghera (Italy) to visit an oil refinery converted into a bio-fuel refinery (17-18/07). – PETI: dispatch of a delegation to Taranto (Italy) to visit a number of industrial sites in relation to petitions against the pollution of soil and subterranean waters (17-19/07).

EU/FYROM stabilisation and association agreement: - Implementation of the stabilisation and association agreement: compliance with political (rule of law, freedom of the media, relations between communities, migration, regional cooperation and neighbourhood) and economic criteria (employment market, liberalisation, regulatory environment, informal economy) and financial cooperation (use of pre-accession funds) in the framework of the partnership for accession.

Progress in the implementation of the EU/Lebanon association agreement and priority actions in the country (employment, security and fight against terrorism, governance and the rule of law, migration and mobility) in relation to developments in the situation in Syria and the region.

Informal meeting of ministers for competitiveness and telecommunications. – Prerequisites for a digital single market (free movement of data and applications): single market as a service and setting in place of 5G in order to promote connectivity and an economy based on data.
Brussels. European Economic and Social Committee. Meeting of the EU/Turkey civil society joint consultative committee. – State of EU/Turkey relations, the Turkish economy and social problems in Turkey (including women’s rights).
Luxembourg. * Court of Justice of the EU. #Judgments: - C-213/15 P (Commission/Breyer – possibility for the Commission to automatically deny access to statements of cases submitted by the member states in the framework of proceedings before the Court of Justice of the EU). – C-566/15 (Erzberger – compatibility with EU law of the German law on the co-management of employees). #Conclusions: - C-42/17 (M.A.S. and M.B. – in VAT matters, faculty for a member state not to apply a statute of limitations contrary to EU law if this could extend the statute of limitations beyond the one in place at the time the infringement was committed).
