14/07/2017 (Agence Europe) – On the basis of an initiative from Hungary and Germany, agriculture ministers from 13 EU member states will officially sign a European declaration on Monday 17 July in Brussels, which supports sustainable production of soybeans and other legumes (see EUROPE 11807). The objective of the declaration is to: provide consumers with information on promoting plant proteins; encourage more precise livestock feeding to increase the efficiency of protein use in feeding and increase locally-adapted legume production. Signatories also commit to providing a greater choice of GMO-free food products to consumers. (LC)
