Commission to discuss rule of law situation on 19 July after announced clampdown on Polish legal system

On Friday 14 July, the European Commission announced that its First Vice-President, Frans Timmermans, would notify the College of Commissioners on Wednesday 19 July of the situation in Poland and that he would take stock of dialogue carried out under the 'rule of law' mechanism launched against Warsaw in spring 2016.
