04/07/2017 (Agence Europe) – During the ceremonial commemorating of 40 years since the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between Spain and Poland on Friday 30 June, Spanish media sources explained that the Spanish Prime Minister, Mariano Rajoy, and his Polish counterpart, Beata Szydło, had displayed a common front on a raft of dossiers, particularly the “posted workers directive”. The two leaders therefore indicated that they opposed the new draft directive on posted workers and alluded to the recent French initiative in this regard (see EUROPE 11800, 11805). The two heads of government reject inclusion of the road sector in the posted workers’ scope of application. Mr Rajoy said that with regard to the “mobility” package, he was opposed to the European Commission proposal to apply the posted workers directive to international transport as from the 4th day (see EUROPE 11811).
