04/07/2017 (Agence Europe) – In a letter of congratulations to the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, on his re-election, the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, called for reforms in the country to continue. “Concrete efforts are needed to further advance implementation of justice reform, and in particular the vetting of judges and prosecutors, and to fight decisively against (…) the cultivation and trafficking of narcotics”, he said in this letter, dated Monday 3 July. Juncker also stressed that the continued EU path of the country would require “cross-party dialogue and cooperation”. The general elections were held on 25 June. (CG)
