19 airline operators set up Airlines International Representation in Europe

13/06/2017 (Agence Europe)On Tuesday 13 June, 19 Airline operators officially set up a new association representing them at the European Union institutions, Airlines International Representation in Europe – AIRE. This organisation effectively replaces the International Air Carrier Association – IACA and includes new members. During the press conference launch, airline heads set out their priorities for the next few years and explained that they would focus on the cost of using airport infrastructure, the introduction of an efficient regulatory framework and the harmonisation of rules for EU and third country airlines. They also explained that they would continue with the work undertaken with the IACA, particularly with regard to the dialogue involving the European Union institutions and key players in European aviation, such as the European Aviation Safety Agency and Eurocontrol. (LT)
