13/06/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 13 June, the President of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani, launched a working group to finalise the revision of the list of expenses to be defrayed under the general expenditure allowance. The revision aims to clarify and reinforce the current rules and best practice. In its resolution of 5 April 2017 on the provisional state of European Parliament expenses 2018, Parliament asked the Secretary General to provide the Bureau with a more specific list of expenses that can be defrayed under the general allowance. The revised list will be submitted for adoption before the end of the year, together with additional recommendations for the next legislative period. An interim report on the working group's progress will be presented to the Bureau at its October 2017 session. (LC)
