13/06/2017 (Agence Europe) – The EU's chief Brexit negotiator, Michel Barner, has called on the British government not to lose time in starting negotiations, and has warned against the risk of ending up without an agreement. In an interview given to eight European journalists on Monday 8 June, Barnier said that his "concern is that time is passing" and that "it is passing more quickly than one thinks because the subjects we have to address are extraordinarily complex". He also thought that further delays would bring further uncertainty, which neither party needs. Barnier stated that it would soon be three months (on 29 June) since Theresa May sent her letter of notification of Article 50 and "we haven't negotiated, we haven't progressed. This negotiation must then be started", he said. (SP)
