08/06/2017 (Agence Europe) – The European Investment Bank is to provide €22 million in financing for the Pont de Rosso bridge in Senegal which will complete one of the missing links of the trans-African corridor. The finance contract was signed during the European Development Days (EDD 2017) in Brussels on Wednesday 7 June by Macky Sall, President of the Republic of Senegal, Amadou Ba, Minister for the Economy, Finance and the Senegal Plan, and Ambroise Fayolle, Vice-President of the EIB. The project will help cut the cost and duration of transport, improve the mobility of people and goods between Mauritania and Senegal and contribute to the economic development of both countries. (AN)
