Brussels, 15/02/2017 (Agence Europe) – The International Labour Organisation (ILO) and Eurofound have worked together to compile studies on the increasing use of digital technologies such as smart phones, IPads, laptops and desktop computers in work carried out in the home in 15 countries. They point out in this new report presented on Wednesday 15 February and entitled “Working anytime, anywhere: The effects on the world of work” that this trend is rapidly transforming the traditional work model and appears to have as many positive as negative effects. According to John Messenger from the ILO, “This report shows that the use of modern communication technologies facilitates a better overall work-life balance but, at the same time, also blurs the boundaries between work and personal life, depending on the place of work and the characteristics of different occupations”.
