15/02/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 15 February, the leader of the European Parliament's EPP Group, Manfred Weber from Germany, told press in Strasbourg that Europe is already moving forward with two speeds. He spoke in favour of a deepening of economic and monetary union in respect of the rules and of the current treaties. The German Christian Democrat – who was speaking alongside the leader of the European Parliament's ALDE Group, Guy Verhofstadt from Belgium, said that moving forward in this way would enable the argument of eurosceptic countries, such as Poland, to be circumvented, the slowest country for whom the eurozone is still waiting, and would oblige them to make explicit their resolve – or refusal – to participate in this new movement of integration at European level.
