12/11/2015 (Agence Europe) - Agreement on British renegotiation not certain by December, says Tusk. European Council President Donald Tusk said on Thursday 12 December, following the informal meeting of EU leaders in Valletta, that it would be “difficult” to reach agreement on the British demands, themselves “very, very difficult” and that no agreement could be guaranteed for December's European summit, scheduled for 17 and 18 December. In response to a question, Tusk said that London's demands, which focus on four areas - economic governance, competitiveness, subsidiarity and immigration - were big asks. “We'll do our best”, Tusk added, indicating his readiness to work on this with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker.
