Poland in trouble over renewables directive

Brussels, 30/04/2015 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission sent a reasoned opinion to Poland on Wednesday 29 April, asking it to ensure that Directive 2009/28/EC on promoting renewable energy is correctly implemented, in particular with regard to biofuels.

The directive includes provisions for achieving the objective of a 20% share of renewable energy in final energy consumption in 2020 and sets individual targets for each member state in achieving the EU-wide target. The text also...
