Brussels, 08/01/2015 (Agence Europe) - The Latvian presidency would like to negotiate the Constitution for single person companies and revise shareholder rights, with the European Parliament, during its mandate.
The presidency has indicated that it would like to continue work on the enterprise governance package. It also said that it was seeking a negotiating mandate from the Council on the revision of the directive on shareholder rights and opening inter-institutional trialogue negotiations in this connection. The Commission proposal in this regard would like to improve the involvement of shareholders in the corporate decision-making process, particularly with regard to wage policy. The Competitiveness Council on 28-29 May could see a general orientation on the subject of the draft directive on single person companies. Monthly meetings are expected to take place on the subject, indicated a source close to the dossier. (MD)
