Following weeks of uncertainty, the Italian government finally confirmed, on the evening of Thursday 18 September, that a European summit on employment, particularly youth employment, would be held. It will take place in Milan on 8 October, following on from the summits of Berlin (see EUROPE 10880) and Paris (see EUROPE 10961). (JK)
