Brussels, 12/04/2011 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 11 April, the EU Council of Ministers adopted without debate the calendar for this year's budgetary procedure and the modalities for the functioning of the conciliation committee as agreed during the trilogue between the Hungarian Presidency, the European Parliament and the Commission held on 30 March 2011. The calendar and procedures concern adoption of the EU budget for 2012 (see EUROPE 10350).
In this regard, the European Parliament, the Council and the Commission agree on the following key dates for 2011: - a trilogue will be called on 11 July (afternoon) before adoption of the Council's position; - the Council will complete its reading by week 30 (end of July) at the latest; - the European Parliament's budgets committee will vote on amendments to the Council's position by the end of week 40 (early October) at the latest; - a trilogue will be called on 19 October (afternoon) before the European Parliament reading; - the European Parliament will vote in plenary session on its reading during week 43 (end of October); - if needed, conciliation will be held from 1 November to 21 November 2011; - the conciliation committee will meet on 8 November (afternoon) hosted by the European Parliament, and on 18 November at the Council's premises; - the sessions of the conciliation committee will be prepared by trilogues held on 3 November; - and on 10 November (afternoon) and 15 November, additional trilogues could be called during the 21-day conciliation period.
The three institutions have also decided on the modalities for the functioning of the conciliation committee. (L.C./transl.jl)
