12/04/2011 (Agence Europe) - Mergers: ENI/AcegasAps/Isontina Reti integrate e Servizi. On Monday 11 April, the European Commission gave the go-ahead to the acquisition by Italy's ENI SpA (oil, gas and electricity) and AcegasAps SpA (electricity and gas distribution in Padua and Trieste) of some of the business of Italy's Isontina Reti integrate e Servizi SpA (IRIS), a retail electricity and gas supplier in the Gorizia region. The deal was notified on 8 March 2011 but does not raise any competition issues because there are only limited overlaps and the deal will not affect the nature of competition on the markets for gas and electricity in Italy.
