13/01/2011 (Agence Europe) - Tribute to Loyola de Palacio. The EPP Group (European People's Party) at the European Parliament organised a ceremony on Wednesday 12 January to honour former European Commission Vice-President Loyola de Palacio, who died in 2006. The initiative taken by Joseph Daul, who heads the Group, was shared by Parliament President Jerzy Buzek. The EPP meeting room will henceforth be known by the name of the Spanish politician, Loyola de Palacio. A plaque and a bust were unveiled by Buzek and by Ana de Palacio, sister of Loyola de Palacio and former Spanish foreign affairs minister. Many members and former members of the Commission and MEPs were present at the ceremony. (Com-Gp/transl.jl)
