Brussels, 13/01/2011 (Agence Europe) - The names of the heads of the three new European Supervision Authorities (ESAs) set up earlier this month are now known, namely Steven Maijoor of the Netherlands, who will head the European Supervision of the Markets Authority (ESMA) in Paris; Andrea Enria of Italy, who will head the ESA for banking in London; and Gabriel Bernardino of Portugal, who will head the ESA for insurance and pensions in Frankfurt. The three men were selected by the general council of each ESA from shortlists drawn up by the European Commission (see EUROPE 10291) and need to attend a public hearing at the European Parliament before they can formally take up office in the spring of this year.
