15/10/2007 (Agence Europe) - On 11 October the European Commission presented a draft directive for codifying the 29 March 1977 777/311/EEC Council directive on the approximation of member state legislation on the level of noise endured by agricultural or forestry wheeled tractors. In other words, once adopted by the Council and Parliament, the new directive will replace the original directive and all amendments made over the last thirty years. The proposal completely retains the substance of these acts and seeks to regroup them in the directive by introducing only formal amendments required in the codification operation itself.
