22/05/2001 (Agence Europe) - Last Monday, the EU Council of Ministers adopted without debate a regulation foreseeing certain technical conservation measures for certain stocks of large migratory fish such as Tuna and certain associated species such as Swordfish. The aim is to regroup into a single regulation all of the technical conservation measures formulated by the regional fishing organisation and that the Community must transpose into Community law. The Council also adopted an additional decision to this regulation relating to the financial contribution for certain spending on the implementation of the measures concerning the same species.
