08/10/2013 (Agence Europe) - EU and Erevan remain committed to deepening their relations. On 8 October during a meeting with Armenia's Minister for Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton stated that “the European Union remains committed to deepening relations with Armenia in all areas that are compatible” with Armenia's recent announcement to join the customs union with Russia. Ashton said that Nalbandian stated that his country “remains determined to further the relations with the EU and that it will continue with reform efforts”. Ashton and Nalbandian also discussed bilateral relations between the EU and Armenia, and the Eastern Partnership summit in Vilnius at the end of November. (CG/transl.fl)
