Brussels, 08/10/2013 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 8 October, François Biltgen and Jesper Svenningsen swore their solemn undertaking and took up their functions as judges of the Court of Justice of the EU and of the Civil Service Tribunal respectively.
Biltgen is of Luxembourgish nationality and has served as a minister of his country on several occasions. He was appointed judge at the Court of Justice on 26 June for the remainder of the term of office of Jean-Jacques Kasel - in other words, until 6 October 2015 - following Kasel's resignation.
Svenningsen is of Danish nationality and a former official and legal secretary at the Court of Justice. He was appointed judge at the Civil Service Tribunal until 30 September 2019, following the resignation of Irena Boruta. (FG/transl.fl)
