ECJ confirms legitimacy of 2004 fine on Akzo Nobel for illegal agreement

Brussels, 10/09/2009 (Agence Europe) - In a ruling made on Thursday 10 September (C-97/08 P), the European Court of Justice (ECJ) confirmed the legitimacy of the fine of €20.99 million imposed on Akzo Nobel in 2004 for having taken part in a range of agreements and practices to fix prices and share markets and for having committed anti-competitive behaviour in the choline chloride sector (a food additive mainly used in the animal feed industry) in the European Economic Area.
