18/05/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 18 May, the Council decided to extend by six months the mandate of the EU assistance mission for security sector reform (EUSSR) in Guinea Bissau. As the Council points out in conclusions adopted on Monday, the aim of this extension is to ensure that the mission responsible for assisting the Guinean authorities in implementation of national security sector reform strategy is fully accomplished.
