06/04/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 6 April, the Council of Ministers approved without debate, the decision to enable the EU to sign up to the agreement on international guarantees on mobile equipment (Cap Convention) and its aeronautical protocol focusing on specific questions relating to aeronautical equipment drawn up in November 2001 during a diplomatic conference under the auspices of the Air Transport Association (IATA) and the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT), an independent intergovernmental organisation. The adoption of these two texts, presented for the first time by the Commission in 2002, has been impossible due to the dispute between Spain and the United Kingdom over Gibraltar. (A.By/transl.rh)
