06/04/2009 (Agence Europe) - In Belgium, the Reform Movement (MR) French-speaking liberal party hopes to keep its three seats at the European Parliament in the next European elections in June 2009 despite the fact that French-speaking Belgium's nine seats are being reduced to eight, explained MR leader Didier Reynders on Tuesday 2 April 2009. The MR election list is almost complete. It is headed by Belgian minister and EU Development and Humanitarian Aid Commissioner Louis Michel, and also includes Frédérique Ries and Olivier Chastel, a secretary of state who helped prepare for Belgium's stint in the presidency of the European Union. Gérard Deprez, former Belgian ALDE MEP, is first replacement, followed by Laeticia Brogniez, advisor to the local authority of Philippeville in Belgium.
