Brussels, 02/03/2009 (Agence Europe) - The written declaration on violence against women which was tabled on 17 November 2008 by Eva-Britt Svensson (GUE/NGL, Sweden) in line with article 116 of the EP regulation, and which expires on 12 March 2009, has so far received nearly 250 signatures. Ms Svensson must now bring together a majority of MEPs in order for her declaration to become an official position of the European Parliament.
