02/03/2009 (Agence Europe) - The Socialist Group in the European Parliament is holding a conference, “Closing the Casino: How to build a stronger and fairer real economy?”, in Brussels on Tuesday 3 March. The event will bring together three former prime ministers, Massimo d'Alema (Italy), Pierre Rocard (France) and Poul Nyrup Rasmussen (Denmark), and Economic and Monetary Affairs Commissioner Joaquin Almunia, economists, renowned academics and trade unionists. Two issues will be at the heart of the debate: “Finance, Industry and Society: towards a new relationship” and “Putting the world back to work”.
