Laurent Nkunda's arrest should reassure DRC, says Louis Michel

Brussels, 23/01/2009 (Agence Europe) - Louis Michel, European Development Commissioner, sees the arrest of Congolese rebellion Tutsi leader, Laurent Nkunda, on Thursday 22 January in Rwanda, as a potentially positive element for restoring peace to the Congo. He said any element that allows the negative influence on either side to be lessened can but consolidate and strengthen peace. Laurent Nkunda's arrest is a sign that Rwanda is not behind him.
