Libe calls for fight to be stepped up against child pornography on internet

Brussels, 23/01/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 21 January, MEPs on the European Parliament civil liberties committee (Libe) a draft recommendation calling on the Council to strengthen the EU legal arsenal in the fight against child pornography and the sexual exploitation of children. In adopting the report by Roberta Agnelilli (UEN, Italy) by 45 votes, with 7 abstentions, MEPs have called for “all types of sexual abuse of children” to be criminalised.
