Brussels, 20/01/2009 (Agence Europe) - As weapons are silenced in the Middle East, the time has come for assessment of the population's humanitarian needs, especially in the Gaza Strip. On behalf of the EU Presidency, three Czech experts in humanitarian and development aid left for Israel and the Palestinian territories on Monday 19 January. Their assessment mission on the ground will be in close coordination with the European Commission and the United Nations.
