Use of European logo on organic produce delayed

Brussels, 02/09/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 2 September, the European Parliament adopted the report by Neil Parish (EPP-ED, UK), thereby approving the European Commission proposal to delay the introduction of labelling of organic products compulsorily bearing the European logo.

In June 2007, the European Union adopted new regulations on organic production which required pre-packed food products to carry a European logo with effect from 1 January 2009. Before that time, use was...
