Parliament takes position in favour of coordination, rather than harmonisation, of social security systems in Europe

Brussels, 09/07/2008 (Agence Europe) -The coordination of social security systems already exists. Simplifying, coordinating and updating existing regulation in order to improve the practical access of the citizens to their rights were stressed by Jean Lambert (Greens/EFA, United Kingdom) and Emine Bozkurt (PES, Netherlands) in their reports on the regulation on the coordination of the social security systems.
